Maryland English Teachers Working in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, August 2008

For almost 20 years now, Kanagawa Prefecture has hosted a Maryland teacher to teach English conversation for adults. In August, six of the teachers met to welcome home Libby Reid (left) and wish good luck to Peter Kidwell (right). Peter will be teaching at Kanagawa International Foundation for the 2008 – 2009 academic year. Libby and Peter are joined by John Sisson, Mendy Nitsch, Diane Merriam, and Beth Volk (left to right).

July 10, 2008. Students from the Tayama Business School in Kanagawa Prefecture visited Baltimore for a morning of study focusing on local economic development trends. Members of the Maryland – Kanagawa Sister State Committee, staff from the Department of Business and Economic Development, the Office of the Secretary of State, and the Kanagawa Prefecture Office in Maryland met the students at the Baltimore Development Corporation where BDC staff hosted the meeting and a walking tour of the downtown area.
